Discectomy is the name of the procedure performed to remove the part of the disc that’s causing pain. Our pain management surgeons usually do minimally-invasive discectomy. Using a tiny video camera and tiny instruments, they do the procedure through small incisions.
Recovery is faster and less painful after minimally-invasive discectomy than after the open procedure.
